Cnidosis is an extremely rare genetic disorder caused by an autosomal recessive disorder gene. It is a progressive neurological disorder that includes different types of problems including seizures, movement difficulties, learning difficulties, and delays in physical and mental development. Symptoms include uncoordinated and jerky movement, severe muscle weakness, stiffness, lack of coordination, difficulties with speech and understanding language, and mental disability. People with Cnidosis can suffer from seizures, heart problems and have difficulty with daily activities such as eating and communicating.

Cnidosis is caused by the deletion or mutation of one or more copies of the gene causing the disorder.
