The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is a branch of the United States government, run by the Secretary of Health and Human Services. It's focused on protecting the health of all Americans and providing essential human services. It's made up of 11 different agencies and over 300 programs including the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, the Food and Drug Administration, the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology, and the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration.
