Olm is an aquatic species endemic to caves of the Dinaric Karst of Slovenia and Croatia. Its scientific name is Proteus Anguinus and it is also known as the "human fish" due to its peculiar pinkish color and a human-like face. This species of salamander is currently listed as an endangered species, due to destruction of its habitat, predatory fish, and pollution in its niche. So far, it is the only obligate cave-dwelling species of vertebrate in Europe.
