Sogo is a Japanese department store chain founded in 1930 which operates a number of stores across Japan. The name SOGO stands for "specialty store grand opening", and the chain is known as a pioneer of the department store concept in Japan. The stores feature a wide variety of products ranging from apparel and home goods to stationery and cosmetics, all at competitive prices.

In 1969, SOGO opened its first flagship store in Tokyo's Shibuya district, which has become an iconic destination for shopping and leisure. In the following decades, SOGO expanded its reach to many other cities and regions throughout Japan.
