Weisshorn is a mountain peak located in the Swiss Alps. Its peak is 4,622 meters (15,177 feet) high, making it one of the highest peaks in the Alps. It is known as one of the most well-known peaks due to its distinctive shape, consisting of a tall pyramidal peak with steep sides. The east face of the peak is known for its thrilling alpine climbing routes. The south and west faces are gentle and more popular for skiing.

The name Weisshorn is said to come from the old German word for "white peak", shining in the sun like a white horn.
