"Antherozoid" in context

Antherozoid is an amazing new biological process discovered by scientists. It is a form of sexual reproduction that occurs in some fungi. This process occurs when a single cell, called a zygospore, reproduces asexually and gives rise to two haploid gametes of opposite mating types. These two cells are then combined in a sexual process, resulting in a fusion of the chromosomes of both the gametes producing a diploid zygospore. This diploid zygospore then undergoes meiosis and creates four new cells, each with a single copy of each haploid mating type.
