"Chess" in context
Chess is an ancient game that has been in existence for more than 1500 years. It is a two-player game, where each player has 16 pieces on a chessboard that consists of 64 squares. The goal of the game is to checkmate the opponent's king by moving the pieces across the board to attack the enemy's king. Each of the pieces move differently, including the pawns which can only move forward and capture pieces diagonally. The knight is the only piece that can move in an L-shape of two squares in any direction.
