"Cocos" in context
Cocos are a member of the palm family and can be found natively growing in warm, humid climates. The nut of the tree is a white to yellow drupe, roughly 30mm in diameter, which when cracked open reveal shiny and smooth brown seeds - commonly referred to as coconuts! The flesh of the coconut is a good source of carbohydrates, dietary fibre, protein and several minerals and vitamins, highly valued for its nutrient content. Coconuts are used for a variety of purposes: cooking, fuelling fires and infusing beauty products with their enriching properties.
