Cheney was born in Lincoln, Nebraska and grew up in Casper, Wyoming. After attending college and receiving his Bachelor of Arts in 1965, he moved to Washington, D.C., and began a career there. He served in the Nixon and Ford administrations, becoming White House Chief of Staff in 1975.
